Making Mistakes: Revisited!
We encouraged you to make mistakes in order to learn and become a truly successful leader (See: Make Mistakes! It’s Okay. Really!). What have you done in a month’s time to get yourself closer to your goals?
Hopefully you have been evaluating any mistakes you’ve made over the course of the month and have written down your learnings. If you didn’t learn anything from your mistakes in the month, be extra cautious. I don’t think you want to be known as "the person who never learns their lesson the first time." Believe me, that’s not a title you’d like to gloat about!
Where are you now? Where should you be?
As a good check point measure, take the time out to re-evaluate yourself and ensure that you are on the right path towards the destination of your choosing. It’s important to always be conscious of where you’ve been so you won’t unintentionally repeat negative experiences or its’ destructive consequences again.
"While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior."
–Henry C. Link
Just to reiterate, don’t be ashamed of yourself for making mistakes. That’s how you’ll learn and truly become successful. If you haven’t made any mistakes this month, then chances are that you didn’t learn nearly as much as you could have.
Make your mistakes and be proud!
